Local multiplayer games are games designed to generate interaction with players on-site and in real time rather than over the internet or asynchronously. The purpose of this game in particular was to use technology and design to create interesting real time human interactions.  By cutting down the interface to it's most basic and minimal state it becomes almost invisible and the users learn to focus on the players in front of them rather than on the phone in their hand.
